Nancy Graham

In early November of 1977 Nancy, her husband, Doug and son, Doug, Jr. moved to Goshen from Rutland. In late 1979 or early 1980 she was asked to run for Town Treasurer due to her previous financial background. From March of 1980 to early 1995, Nancy was Goshen’s Town Treasurer. During this period of time she managed the Town’s financial affairs and kept tract of the checking accounts and savings accounts. At times she would assist various Town residents with questions about their tax bills as well as answer correspondence from out-of-town inquires. She was always as accommodating as possible to other Town Officials who had special needs of one kind or another. Nancy was always present at the Selectmen’s meetings as well as Town meetings to answer any financial questions that might arise. When she decided to step down as Treasurer, she spent many hours in assisting Ramona Mills with her new duties as Treasurer. In that era there was no computer system and doing the books took considerably longer than today. She also stood in as Assistant Town Clerk when the regular Clerk was unavailable. When time permitted Nancy attended various Citizen Club Meetings, volunteered for recycling at the Town Barn and would also help clean and decorate the Church for the Christmas Eve service.
